Who we are
MAK Overseas grew out of a family trading house into a specialised flax processor and exporter. Today we handle the fibre from field to container โ buying, processing, grading, inspecting and shipping.
Started as a general trading company under the licensed name โHTG โ Hakim Trading Groupโ, serving the Egyptian domestic market.
After seven years of growth we expanded our mission internationally as MAK Overseas, exporting premium flax fibre to mills abroad.
A new era for our vision to improve the flax market: establishing our own factory for flax processing in the Gamasa industrial zone.

Flax fine fibres, flax seeds, flax yarn, retting auxiliaries, and complete flax production lines.
All flax fibres and their products, covering yarn making, plumbing, paper making, insulation sheets and the automotive industry.
Goods inspection before loading, plus patching, coding and sampling of shipped goods with integrated logistics all the way to the vessel.

Long line fibre separated from the shive after scutching, supplied in bundles and graded to your requirement.
Combed long line fibre with parallel, cleaned strands โ prepared for line spinning.
Shorter, tangled fibre recovered during processing โ used in tow spinning, paper, insulation and composites.
Short fibre grade for coarse yarns, ropes, technical felts and general industrial use.
Flax fibre straight off the scutching line, ready for hackling or for direct sale as raw fibre.
Continuous sliver of hackled flax, even and clean, prepared to feed spinning frames directly.
Cottonised fibres according to client requirements for blended yarn and spandex, supplied natural, washed or bleached.
Hackled flax presented in doll form for plumbing and sealing applications on threaded pipe joints.
Plumbing flax wound on spools inside a plastic dispenser โ retail-ready packaging for the sanitary trade.
Flax twine wound on cones, in the count and length your line calls for.
Flax twine in bobbins and balls, labelled and packed for distribution.
Food-grade flax twine for butchery and kitchen use, available in natural and dyed colours.

Why flax
Flax was cultivated extensively in ancient Egypt, where temple walls carried paintings of flowering flax and mummies were entombed in linen. Egyptian priests wore only linen, as flax was considered a symbol of purity. Phoenicians traded Egyptian linen across the Mediterranean, and the Romans used it for their sails.
